The Palaszczuk Labor Government has been returned with an increased majority, while holding onto all of its regional seats and expanding into the LNP strongholds on the Sunshine and Gold Coasts. Many pundits would’ve thought that Labor was in a strong position heading into the final week, but they certainly outperformed even the most optimistic of true believers.
Federal Politics - October 2020
Federal Parliament resumes next Monday for the final run down to the end of the year. Two huge elections occurred in the last seven days, Queenslanders went to the polls on October 31 and the US Presidential Congressional and Senate elections on November 3.
New Cabinet and then a State Budget on the to-do list for Premier Palaszczuk
Re-elected Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will appoint her third-term Cabinet in coming days, and then move to finalise the delayed State Budget before Christmas.
