Meet the team
Peter Costantini OAM
Founding Director
| As a Founding Partner, Peter established the SAS Group in 2009 with the Hon Larry Anthony AO, SAS Group Chair, and the late Hon Con Sciacca AO. He served as Chief Executive Office and Managing Director for 15 years until June 2024 and led the SAS Group journey to Queensland’s largest and one of Australia’s most experienced public affairs firms. Peter has almost three decades’ experience as an advocate for industry at state and federal level and has provided executive leadership for the private and not-for-profit sectors. He has worked with a wide range of industry groups, associations and enterprises providing strategic advice, research and planning for effective engagement, campaigning and advocacy. He has specific expertise in employment and training, has worked extensively with clients in manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, resources, forestry and natural resources, and human services. He has led the development of quality partnerships for clients with Government and funding agencies. During his 12 years with the Queensland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Peter worked with successive governments on an extensive range of policy issues and delivery strategies. He was a member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ministerial Advisory Committee on Education and Training for 10 years and played a leading role in the strategic direction of Australia’s apprenticeship system, Commonwealth and State funding models, skills shortages, Indigenous employment, education and training, and industry support for marginalised youth. Peter was the founding executive officer of Queensland Apprenticeship Services (QAS), which became the principal provider of support services to employers, apprentices and trainees in Queensland. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing). He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2020 for service to business, particularly to education and training. He is the inaugural chair of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Advisory Council. |
