China Chamber Event Wrap Up
Last week’s China Chamber 2023 AGM was highly successful. About 200 people attended the Canberra event from major cities across Australia on Monday, the fourth of December. Ambassador Xiao Qian, the Hon Kevin Hogan MP and David Smith MP all made speeches, which highlighted the importance of bilateral trade and its importance in improving the lives of people in both countries. Other speakers for the evening included the Chamber’s National President Ms Ren Li; Kirsty Gowan of Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water, representing the Hon Chris Bowen MP, and Georgina Prasad from Treasury’s Investment Division.
Together with the Chamber, Victoria Qiu, our Director and Chief Executive of SAS Group China had the pleasure of welcoming both David and Kevin. In fact, the Chamber’s National Secretary highlighted SAS Group’s critical role in the success of the event.
Other VIPs in attendance included Dr Ruan Zongze, Consul General of China for Brisbane; Mr Wang Chunsheng, Acting Consul General of China for Sydney; Mr Gao Feng, Minister Counsellor for Economic & Commercial Affairs, and Ms Lan Mei, Embassy Counsellor.
The SAS Group looks forward to strengthening Australia and China’s bilateral relationship into 2024.
