Baton Change before the Paris Olympics
It is with great pleasure that I announce my long-term business partner Malcolm Cole will be assuming the role of Managing Director of the SAS Group from 1st July.
The time is right for a baton change, and Malcolm will do a terrific job leading our team to the next level of service and trust, in this rapidly changing business advisory world.
Malcolm joined the SAS Group as our Director of Media and Communications in 2014 and has been integral as we created Queensland’s largest and one of Australia’s most experienced public advocacy organisations.
Along with Labor heavy-weight and former Minister, the late Hon Con Sciacca AO, and former Coalition Minister the Hon Larry Anthony AO, we launched the SAS Group on the 1st July 2009. For the following 15 years I have had the honour of being the inaugural Chief Executive and Managing Director.
It will be business as usual for our clients. As a founding partner and director, I’m staying in the business and will shift my focus fully to supporting our amazing clients and team of consultants. The Hon Larry Anthony AO continues as Executive Chairman, along with the Hon Bernie Ripoll who been part of our leadership since joining the SAS Group in 2017.
Over these 15 years, I have been blessed to work with many of Australia’s greatest companies, industry groups and not-for-profits, as they achieve great business outcomes, and have made enormous contributions to the economic and social fabric of our nation.
This has been an extremely rewarding time.
I have supported clients to win commercial and infrastructure agreements worth hundreds of millions; secure funding for the first family residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Queensland; advocate policies which have helped a generation of young people into apprenticeships; build a national platform for suicide prevention in our most at-risk industries; and to almost everywhere in between.
To you, the clients and friends of the SAS Group, I thank you for your trust in our business as we strive to achieve results for you and for the betterment of Australia. I look forward to continuing on the journey with you.
