The Inside Word
This too shall pass
Clients and friends of the SAS Group,
Many of us would know the phrase ‘This too shall pass‘ as an exhortation to remember the impermanence of any situation, including the human condition.
Perhaps what might be less-well known to some is the fact that the phrase has its roots in Persian Sifu poetry and wisdom, which is fitting given the turmoil confronting most Australians at the moment has its epicentre in modern-day Persia.
In preparing this month’s edition of The Inside Word, it’s been impossible for us to avoid reference to the war in Iran and its knock-on effects in the Australian economy and political realm.
More than enough has been written about fuel shortages and how they will impact business and our way of life. So instead, our approach has been to consider how the spreading ripples will make their way through the political system, and to look into some of the so-far unexpected consequences.
While governments scramble for answers, we can only batten down the hatches and assure ourselves that this too shall pass.
On a more positive note, our clients have achieved some great results in the last month. Good news is very welcome at this time, and more than ever we are pleased to be working with people and organisations who are committed to building a better Australia.
As always, please get in touch if you need support with your government relations or communications objectives.
