23nd November 2019

At the recent Liberal National Party state council meeting on the Gold Coast, our Director of Media and Communications Malcolm Cole was asked to revisit his journalism days and conduct an interview with the Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack and the State Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington.

While those present are refusing to give too much detail, rumour has it that the Deputy Prime Minister emerged from the interview with his tie several inches shorter than it was at the start, while our man was seen sporting a large pair of scissors and an even larger grin.

The interview also featured both leaders sipping away at a can of Queensland’s favourite brew – XXXX – and Mr McCormack taking to the microphone to perform Elvis’s Suspicious Minds.

Clearly, the Deputy Prime Minister didn’t have a suspicious enough mind before the event. Sadly, there are no photos of the tie attack – only this “after” shot which showed what good sports Deb and Michael were.
