Brisbane helped celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the formation of the People’s Republic of China last night at the Brisbane Convention Centre.
While we read about the constant tension in the trade war between the United States and China and the flow-on effect to Australia, we should not forget the significant impact that Queensland-China bilateral relationship has on the prosperity of the state.
One third of Queensland’s exports are consumed by mainland China, over one in four students in Queensland Universities are international students from China and the fasted growing cohort of tourists to Queensland are from China.
Director Larry Anthony was pleased to be able to catch up with Brisbane Consul General Xu Jie and his wife along with the Queensland Premier at the recent celebration.
