Hon. Larry Anthony
Larry has had a distinguished career in business and politics and is the current President of the National Party of Australia.
A founding Director of the SAS Group, Larry was a Minister in the Howard Government for five years, and held numerous ministries including serving as Minister for Social Security, the largest spending portfolio in the Commonwealth. He was a Member of the Australian Parliament from 1996-2004 and is widely regarded for his work on social policy reform and developing trade programs.
Larry is the third-generation Anthony family member in the Australian Parliament - the only family in Australian history where each elected member has served as Minister of the Crown and collectively served 56 years in the Australian Parliament.
Before entering Parliament, Larry was a stockbroker and investment banker with Potter Warburg and Merrill Lynch. He is a professional company director and has served on numerous ASX-listed public companies and government-owned corporations, including Macquarie Media, Sunwater and Indue, as well as private companies in the areas of information technology and human services.
Larry has spent considerable time negotiating and navigating clients through difficult environments in the resources and agricultural sector both in Australia and offshore.
Holding a Bachelor of Commerce and a Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment, Larry is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Financial Services Institute of Australia. He is the former Chairman of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards organisation and remains involved as Chairman of the Friends.
Director & Chief Executive, SAS China
Born in China and emigrating to Australia in 1996, Victoria brings considerable knowledge of Chinese business and political culture to the SAS Group.
Throughout her consulting and advisory career, Victoria has worked with businesses from Australia and China across major industries, such as energy and resources, construction, telecommunication and civil aviation, medical equipment and healthcare, and design and engineering. She has worked with industry peak bodies, think tanks and governments from both countries, successfully supporting their export, investment or strategic goals.
Victoria has been a Senior Advisor to the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia, a member of the NSW Government Multicultural Business Advisory Panel, founding President of Australian Chinese Professionals Association, Advisor to an Australian political leader on economic and trade affairs with China, Australia Representative of Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission, and a Committee member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ 2011 Beijing Conference.
In 2015, Victoria was honoured by Chongqing Municipality Government as one of the most successful Chongqingers outside of China.
She has a Bachelor of Arts from Beijing Language and Culture University, a Graduate Diploma of Business Administration from the University of Sydney and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales.
Hon Con Sciacca AO
Founding Chairman (1947 - 2017)
Con Sciacca was the Founding Chairman of the SAS Group, and worked in the business from its inception in 2009. First elected to the Australian Parliament in 1987, Con was a Member for 15 years, serving in the Hawke and Keating Governments as Parliamentary Secretary for Social Security and also Parliamentary Secretary for Arts and Administrative Services. In 1994, Con was elevated to the Ministry and served as Minister for Veterans' Affairs and Minister Assisting the Treasurer for Superannuation. He was the Shadow Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs from 1998-2001.
For more than 40 years, Con has been a prominent Labor Party leader starting as President of the Queensland Young Labor movement. His political career saw many highlights including the 'Australia Remembers' program to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the end of World War II and his election as World Secretary of Global Organisation of Parliamentarians against Corruption.
In recognition of his service to the veteran community, Con was conferred life memberships of the Returned Services League, the RAAF Association of Australia and the Naval Association of Australia. Con was also a foundation fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Con was awarded an Officer in the Order of Australia in 2006 for his contribution to both the community and, specifically, the veteran community and cancer research. Con was also been honoured by the Italian Government, given the title of Grande Ufficiale (Grand Officer) of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (one of Italy's highest honours) and by the Finnish Government having been awarded the title Commander in the Order of the Lion of the Finnish Republic. .
Con's lifetime involvement in politics, business and the law gave the SAS Group invaluable experience in dealing with governments at all levels and the relationship between government and the law.
