Shayne is a government relations specialist with more than 20 years’ hands-on experience in senior government roles. She has a wealth of experience in governance, public policy, community engagement, public sector finance and the delivery of major infrastructure, particularly in the local government sector.
Shayne served as an elected councillor on Australia’s largest local government, the Brisbane City Council, for 13 years, and is well known and regarded amongst her former colleagues on Council. Most recently, Shayne was the Manager, Intergovernmental Relations & Special Projects at the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ). Prior to that role, Shayne was the Executive Manager of the Northern Queensland Regional Organisations of Councils, and was a non-executive director of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
Shayne began her political career as an advisor to former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and served as a senior policy specialist in the Beattie Government. Her reputation for forthright advocacy, skilled negotiation, and ability to work effectively with a diverse range stakeholders enables her to drive major projects, policy and legislative changes with a pragmatic and diplomatic approach
Shayne holds a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in political science and public administration) and a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from Griffith University, and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Queensland University of Technology. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
Andrew has held key leadership and strategic management positions working for major national and international companies on Government projects,property development, infrastructure projects, commercial ventures and professional communications.
Andrew has worked in both State and Federal parliamentary systems and has the experience, knowledge and understanding of the Government decision making processes. Andrew has assisted large Queensland, national and international companies to engage with State and Federal Governments and to formulate pathways through the bureaucracy.
Rebecca has 25 years of extensive administrative, communications and business development experience, and puts her diverse skills to good use managing the SAS Group.
Rebecca has served both Federal and State governments where she provided high-level stakeholder engagement, communications and executive support to ministers.
Prior to joining the team, Rebecca owned and operated two successful Domino’s Pizza stores, achieving notable sales growth and community accolades. She also served as a Client Services Director and Account Director for leading communications agencies, developing marketing plans and managing Corporate Transactions, and for a time oversaw the business development arm of the Northern Territory Convention Bureau.
Rebecca manages the needs of our team and growing client base. She provides essential assistance to our clients and the internal support required to keep the SAS Group running smoothly.
Consultant, Media and Communications
Rachel is a skilled media and communications professional with proven success executing communications campaigns and engagement strategies over the past three years.
Rachel has experience across media and marketing campaigns, with skills spanning media relations, digital communications, content writing, social media and online community management and membership and event management. With an understanding of traditional and digital media landscapes, she has a strong ability to achieve client objectives and deliver meaningful results.
Since joining the SAS Group, Rachel has worked on various projects for clients in the not for profit, professional services, retail, community and health sectors.
An enthusiastic and analytical mind, Rachel loves persuasive writing and capturing opportunities that influence and inspire.
She has completed a Bachelor of Journalism and Master of Governance and Public Policy.
Senior Consultant - Media and Communications
A former senior Australian metropolitan newspaper journalist and editor with experience across a number of key sectors, ranging from business to sport, Paddy has extensive experience providing strategic communication and government
relations advice and support for organisations in Australia and overseas.
Before joining The SAS Group, Paddy ran her own consultancy communications business working with not-for-profits and the business sector before becoming the principal advisor, policy and corporate affairs, for Triple P International Pty Ltd, which distributes training and resources for one of the country’s most successful social services exports, the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program.
Paddy has also worked as the Communications Manager for the Parenting and Family Support Centre in the Health and Behavioural Sciences faculty at The University of Queensland.
