Changes to the Federal Ministry
The Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has today announced changes to the Federal Ministry, following the election of Michael McCormack as Leader of the Nationals and his appointment to the Deputy Prime Ministership earlier this week.
Victorian Nationals MP Darren Chester returns to the Ministry as Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Minister for Defence Personnel and Minister Assisting for the Centenary of ANZAC - portfolios currently held by Mr McCormack.
Queensland Keith Pitt MP also returns to the Ministry as Assistant Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister, replacing Victorian MP Damian Drum - a prominent backer of former leader Barnaby Joyce.
NSW MP Mark Coulton comes into the Ministry as Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, replacing Luke Hartsuyker.
The new Ministers will be sworn in by the Governor-General on Monday in Canberra.
